KINGSTON, BURLINGTON ROAD - January 19
OnPoint surveys won a tender with The Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames to observe the origin and destination of all pedestrians and cyclists entering and exiting the survey area along Burlington Road with a time stamp giving each journey time. We were to categorise pedestrians by residents, visitors and by age groups as well as their mode of transport, car, bus, by bike or by foot. We labelled crossing points and split the area in to zones and identified popular undesignated crossing points/desire lines & controlled crossings.
The council ultimately wanted to collate the data as a visual representation therefore details of where each and every person starts, finishes and crosses the road were essential to build up a model.
